A CELEBRATION OF MODERN ARCHITECTURE
IN ONE SQUARE MILE
To the sponsors, homeowners, volunteers, committee members and patrons of Modern Mile Dallas:
We hope that you have been out enjoying some of 2018’s incredible home tours thus far. Several more home tours are in store for 2018 and we know all of you “home tour addicts” are looking forward to touring them.
With that in mind, we wanted to alert everyone that the Modern Mile Home Tour has hit a snag for 2018 - a few of our homes were heavily damaged in storms earlier this year. There will be no 2018 tour. As we like to keep our tour “local” we are not looking to expand outside the neighborhood. Be proud that with the support of each of you, Modern Mile Dallas has raised and donated $76,293 to Walnut Hill Elementary school.
We look forward to resuming Modern Mile Dallas in 2019. In the meantime, please continue to monitor our Facebook page and website for any updates.

MODERN MILE DALLAS
Imagine a home tour clustered within one walkable square mile! Some of the neighborhood’s original low-slungMid-Century Modern (MCM) dwellings were built in 1954 in conjunction with a nation-wide parade of homes. They received national publicity in Better Homes and Gardens and in the local newpaper. More modern style houses were build, continuing into the '60s and '70s. Most of those period authentic homes are intact today. In recent times, some of the original homes were renovated and expanded for modern living. Also, there has been a resurgence of architecturally significant contemporary or modern style structures built, including some under construction.
Bordered by Royal Lane, Midway Rd, Walnut Hill Lane and Marsh Lane, this quiet neighborhood is home to Joe's Creek with its massive trees and wildlife. Numerous second generation homeowners continue to live in the area.
